What is the ambiance of the property?
Secluded, Quiet, Stylish. Around two thirds of the units are not available to short-term guests but are either occupied by long-term residents or retained by owners for their exclusive use. If you want resort services they are non-existent, you will be staying in an exclusive resident complex with the feel of a private club.

What is the procedure on arrival?
As you exit Customs the Avis desk is straight ahead. If you have a Grace Bay Car the agent will be standing outside the terminal door. If you are taking a taxi the dispatcher is located to the left of the terminal door.

How much is the taxi fare?
For the first two persons it is around $40.00 with extra person $20.00 each so four persons will be $80.00. Ensure that you confirm the price before you get into the taxi.

What is included in the car hire package?
With both companies the rental charge and taxes are paid on your behalf but will show on the contract you sign. The vehicles provided are 4 seats, automatics with a/c except for those staying in a 3 bedroom who will be supplied with a 7-seat minivan. Optional insurance, upgrades and gasoline are your expense. Both companies will provide you with a cell phone and give you directions to the resort.

How does the cell phone work?
It is a free loan but if you lose or damage it you will have to pay for the loss. You have to load $ on it to make calls and this can be done as you arrive or at many local outlets. Call charges differ but international calls will be charged at higher rates than local ones. It is still usually cheaper to use these phones rather than incur roaming charges on your home-based phone.

How else can I communicate?
There are no conventional phone lines in your suite. However, there is free wifi throughout the property. If you have a cell phone with Skype or Vonage apps it will work on property. There are numerous other ways to communicate through your computer over the internet.

Does my suite have entertainment options?
Each room has a flat screen TV giving access to around 50 cable channels. There are no DVD players or game consoles.

Does my suite have air-conditioning?
Each suite has central air. Electricity is very expensive on the island, among the most expensive in the world so we ask that you follow a few guidelines.

  1. Please ensure all windows and doors are closed when the A/C is on.
  2. Do not try to set the thermostat below 72 degrees – it causes problems with condensation.
  3. If you leave your suite turn the thermostat to 78 degrees or above to conserve energy.

 

Is the tap water safe to drink?
Yes it is, although it may have a slight taste. There is chilled drinking water and cups at beach level for your convenience.

Is the property secure?
The Turks & Caicos is generally very safe with violent crime being virtually non-existent. There are security personnel at the gate and in the building from 7pm – 7am.

Are there safes in the rooms?
No. The room key system enables us to track every entry and exit into your room and issue of master keys is strictly limited and tightly controlled. All our employees have been subject to criminal back ground checks, but we ask that you use common sense and take the same precautions that you would at home a few suggestions:

  1. Do not bring expensive jewelry or watches with you, most places here are informal and you are coming on a beach vacation.
  2. Put all valuables in a drawer; do not leave on the counter.
  3. When you go to the beach, or explore the island etc,. just take a little cash for your needs and maybe a credit card.

 

Are credit cards accepted on island?
There is wide acceptance of Visa & MasterCard by merchants and limited acceptance of Amex. There are ATM’s which accept most cards but check with your issuer if you have any doubts. Travelers Cheques can be cashed at banks but are not generally accepted by merchants.

What service is provided in my suite?
Each day housekeeping will come and do tidy up consisting of:

  1. Clean bathrooms and change towels.
  2. Tidy balcony / patio areas.
  3. Make beds and tidy bedrooms (each fourth day the bed linen will be changed).
  4. Tidy living area.
  5. Remove garbage as needed.

 

Services not offered

  1. Do laundry.
  2. Wash dishes or load dishwasher.
  3. Clean cooking utensils.

 

If you require a fuller service, it is available but please arrange for it before you arrive so that manpower can be planned.

Are beach towels provided?
Each suite is issued towels per person. Please leave the used ones on the floor in the washer/dryer closet and housekeeping will replace them when performing the daily service to your suite. There is also a selection of ‘left behind’ beach toys available.

What other facilities are on site?
Gym – This is open 24/7, but children are not allowed to use the equipment.
Volleyball – The court is available during daylight hours and balls will be provided.
Pool/Beach – Chaise and umbrellas are provided, please ask for help if you need it and remember to supervise children (especially non swimmers).
Barbecue – This is located in the pool area and is for general use, there are also tables and chairs set up in this area.
Water-sports – Big Blue is located next door to the property and offers a full range of water-based activities.

Is my kitchen fully equipped?
All the suites have modern full-equipped kitchens and include a dishwasher and huge fridge freezer. The detergent for the dishwashing is provided both for hand and machine. Just bring your favorite brand of coffee!! Please note that the housekeeping team do not clean dishes.

Is there a laundry facility?
All the suites have automatic washer/dryers located in a separate closet. Detergent is not provided. Please ensure that you do not overload the machines.

Is there a concierge?
Your on property host is Donn who works daily from 1pm to 9pm. His cell phone number is 244 3939. He will assist you with planning your vacations, and familiarize you with all aspects of the property on arrival.

Can I get early or late checkout?
Every effort will be made to accommodate your request but checkout time is officially 11am which we will have to enforce if we have a new arrival. Normally housekeeping will be able to offer you courtesy use of a king room so that you can shower etc., before departing.
