Why did you choose Leeward Resort to celebrate your special day?
Matt and I fell in love with Leeward when we first visited this past summer. It is an absolutely gorgeous property with unique architectural features and expansive views. Leeward is our little piece of heaven. It so peaceful and serene, it forces you to check out of reality and enjoy your vacation. The rooms were a welcoming surprise as you feel that you are walking into an upscale condo, all of the amenities are 5 star+, yet it allows you to feel that you are at home.
We chose Leeward as the location for our wedding because it allowed us to have privacy, yet provided the incredible views of Turks and Caicos scenery. Leeward is so unique because it is an absolutely beautiful property that is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the island, but is just five minutes away from everything.
Leeward also provided us with the flexibility of being married on the beach or on the pavilion which stretches into the water. Since most of the beaches in Providenciales are public, you lack privacy since anyone and everyone could stop and watch your ceremony. Leeward Resorts was an absolute perfect location as we were able to be married privately overlooking the water and have the reception immediately following 30 yards away.
What were the things that made the day and trip special for you?
The people!!! As soon as we arrived at Leeward (on our first trip) we were greeted by Don who was so welcoming and accommodating. All of the guests at Leeward were on the same mission as we were....relaxation and to have fun!
As far as our wedding day goes:
I arrived early (as the bride) and was able to take a few hours to myself to enjoy the calm before the storm. I arrived and immediately was able to relax and take in the peace and quiet away from the busy Grace Bay.
As the guests started arriving they were amazed at the gorgeous property and how tranquil Leeward Resorts is. As the sun started to set the seated guests who were overlooking the water were able to take in the peacefulness of Turks and Caicos. The wedding party slowly walked down the tiki covered aisle to the pavilion which extends over the water. The wedding ceremony was absolutely perfect.
After the ceremony all of the guests mingled over to the reception area overlooking the pool as a rainbow started to appear over Nikki Beach. Lots of fun was had, the food was delicious and the atmosphere even better. The guests all stated it was the best wedding they had ever been to and they have been to a lot!
Did you enjoy being near enough but far enough from the Grace Bay area and beach?
We absolutely love the seclusion of Leeward and the convenience of being 5 minutes away from Grace Bay.
